About Dr. Melina Roberts ND

Dr. Melina Roberts started training in martial arts in 1987. She earned her black belt in karate and has earned her third degree black belt in Taekwondo. Melina has been training in the art of Taekwondo for over 12 years and currently trains at Markham Taekwondo Academy. Melina's martial arts experience has influenced her understanding of healing and has lead to her special interest in sports medicine. She believes in focusing on healing the whole person, taking into account the mind, body and spiritual dimensions, and using natural substances and therapies to stimulate the body's ability to heal itself. She understands the importance of healing quickly and effectively from sports injuries to get you back training at your pre-injury activity level, instead of masking the symptoms with pain killers, the root cause of the problem needs to be addressed.

Dr Melina Roberts obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo. She furthered her studies and completed a four-year doctorate at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. She is a published author with articles in The Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, and several newspapers and magazines. Dr. Roberts is also an avid lecturer on topics from sports medicine to women(s health to cancer. Dr. Roberts is always furthering her education to remain current on naturopathic research and methodologies. Her clinical focus includes sports medicine, chronic disease, women(s health, allergies, digestive disorders and cancer.
